Air cargo at Hyderabad has witnessed a sudden boost in the export of temperature controlled products for the past one year and has faced great challenges while handling peak times. HMACPL has recognized market demand and needed requirement of additional cold storage capacity especially for pharma products in the terminal and initiated the project in April 2010. With a great support from the logistics partners, airline customers and regulatory authorities the project moved ahead and currently is in the very last stage of completion. We are targeting to make the facility fully operational by Jan2011.
PHARMA ZONE at Hyderabad is the first on-airport based dedicated temperature controlled pharmaceutical handling & storage facility in India with 15-25 and 2-8 degree chambers both in the bonded and non-bonded areas. The facility plays an imperative role as a key contributor to the Pharmaceutical exports supply chain ensuring good storage practices, effective handling and importantly lowest exposure to external temperatures. Facility built over an area of 1400 sq.mt is designed to handle export and transit pharmaceutical cargo with an annual handling capacity of 30,000 tons per annum.
05 dedicated truck docks, in-floor calibrated weighing scales, temperature & humidity monitoring devices, data loggers, SMS & Email alert to track temperature excursions, dedicated CCTV cameras, emergency response & risk assessment, uninterrupted power supply, Work space for regulatory authorities and specialized/automated material handling equipment are some of the key features of the facility.
